Hairdressing has been my passion for over 20 years. As owner and creative presence of The Cutting Room Salon & Spa, it is my responsibility to share innovative concepts, to help my team members reach and surpass their full creative potential. My position as a Sebastian Artistic Team Member is unique for The Cutting Room, as it allows me to be a resource for the entire team. It enables me to introduce the hottest and most current trends in hair and makeup techniques. I am committed to inspiration in artistry and encourage my team to reach the highest level of quality and excellence.
I am very enthusiastic about physical fitness and well-being and I incorporate this healthy attitude into all parts of my life. |

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn joined The Cutting Room team in May 2010, shortly before her graduation from Marvel College. Since her graduation, she’s taken some training with Kérastase.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
I like interacting with different people all the time and helping each client explore his or her individual style and expressing this through their hair.
What’s your personal style like?
I don’t really have one style. I’m all over the “style” map!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
The industry is going to grow. The biggest changes will be seen in product and colour lines. People will want to spend less time coloring as well as styling, so we will need to be able to accommodate that! |

Natacha
Natacha joined The Cutting Room in August 2009. She trained and worked as an esthetician before exploring her career in salon management. She continues to take leadership and management training to keep on top of the latest innovations.
What’s your personal style?
It’s a bit on the classic or conservative side with a personal twist!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
The industry is becoming more and more competitive. Staying at the top will become increasingly challenging, but we’ll have to keep updating and improving to do so! |

Jovan
Jovan has been at The Cutting Room for five years. After graduating from Marvel College, she apprenticed under Jonn’s guidance and has been a stylist for the last four years.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
I enjoy being able to make people feel good about themselves. I like to help clients make changes that help them feel more confident in their style.
What’s your personal style?
I’m trend driven with a hint of funky!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
There will be a definite shift towards versatile products and looks. I also think we’ll see a major effort to create healthier products for consumers. |

Hanna
Hanna graduated from Marvel and has been a stylist for the past six years. She joined The Cutting Room about two years ago and has kept on top of the latest trends through continuing education.

Creative and free!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
The sky is the limit! I’m excited to be a part of it. I’m anticipating modern twists on classic styling and cutting and I can’t wait! |

Candice
Candice has been with The Cutting Room for three years, but has worked as a stylist for the past eight years. She was educated at the Estelle Beauty Academy in Edmonton.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
I like transforming someone’s look and helping them with their confidence and style.
What’s your personal style?
I like soft hair with an edge.
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see that there will be a shift to low maintenance, flowing soft hair with easy colour for maintenance-free style. |

Jamie
Jamie developed a love for hair styling in high school and pursued her talent at Marvel College. She joined The Cutting Room in February 2008, and feels that she has learned most of what she knows since she joined the team. Since becoming a member of the team, Jamie has taken cutting classes, with a focus on men’s cutting techniques.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
I enjoy getting to meet new and interesting people every day.
What’s your personal style?

How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see trends becoming more eco-friendly in the way of products and technology. I also see more emphasis on versatility in cuts and styles. I believe this because people want to be able to achieve more than one look on their styling budget. |

Kate
Kate has been a member of The Cutting Room team for the past year, but has been a stylist for a little over five years. She took her formal training at Estelle Hair Academy in Edmonton, and has continued to develop professionally by taking a wide range of classes.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
The best thing for me as a stylist is being around people, creating something different. There’s nothing better than seeing a client happy with what I have created for them!
What’s your personal style?
I like a little bit of everything!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see the industry going back in time. A lot of things we see now are inspired by older styles, particularly in the areas of clothing, music and hair. I anticipate this trend will continue. |

Janella
Janella joined The Cutting Room team a little over a year ago, when she made a move from Grande Prairie to Edmonton. She has been an esthetician for six years and took her training at The Alberta Academy of Aesthetics. Since joining The Cutting Room, Janella has taken numerous classes offered through Dermalogica to enhance her understanding of the products used in our spa. In addition, Janella has taken a course to learn how to apply lash extensions.
What do you like best about being an esthetician?
My favourite part of this work is making people feel really good about themselves.

What’s your personal style?
I would say my personal style is classic and elegant.
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I think the next five years will bring lots of changes in our professional and retail operations. I am pretty sure that consumers will lean towards products that are organic and will want to use and purchase this type of product. |

Krista has been a stylist for 15 years but joined The Cutting Room four months ago. She took her formal training through Marvel College.

Emily
Emily first developed an interest in hair styling during a high school cosmetology classes and decided to attend Marvel College to develop skills in this area. She has worked in a salon since 2006, and joined The Cutting Room in December 2009 to pursue an apprenticeship with Jonn. Since then she has taken a wide variety of classes to enhance her skill set.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
You never stop learning and helping people look and feel good. I really enjoy giving clients a confidence boost.
What’s your personal style?
I like a little bit of everything! I like to make my own style.
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see the industry going back to the 80s, with an up to date twist! |

Tara
Tara has been with the salon for the past two years and is our behind the scene girl that ensures the salon is always looking clean, that we have what we need on hand and ready as well as helping our stylists and guests with shampoo and scalp massage.
She took formal training at The Cosmopolitan School for Make-Up and has worked as a make-up artist for four years.
What do you like best about being a make-up artist?
For sure it’s the complete transformation from beginning to end!
What’s your personal style?
I think my personal style is a little 60s with a new kind of style.
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see a shift to organic and natural materials. |

Caitlin
Caitlin is a recent graduate from Marvel College and joined The Cutting Room just before her graduation. She’s participating in numerous opportunities to expand her knowledge and began by taking some training with Kérastase.
What do you like best about being a stylist?
I love helping guests look their best each and every time they visit the salon.
What’s your personal style?
Trendy and chic!
How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I see the industry evolving with new trends, but also coming back to some of the trends that were popular in the past. |
